Disney Fairies Graphic Novels

So I’ll preface this little article by saying I cannot believe I didn’t know about these books!  If you weren’t aware and most of you probably aren’t I actually work in the comic industry.  I’m a colorist and mainly work on all ages books.  So not knowing that this series of graphic novels existed makes me fill a little silly. ha

So in an effort to spread the word I thought I’d make a quick post letting everyone know that fairy_pre2these books are available.  Sprinkled throughout this article are a few preview pages from the books. I’m actually planning to buy a few of these myself soon as well, so once I do I’ll post a review.

Now on to the fun stuff, this series of graphic novels is published by Papercutz they’re available to buy on Amazon.com and I’m sure many other places.  Here is the little excerpt from the website:

“We all know the story of Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell and their incredible adventures on the mysterious isle of Neverland. But where did Tink come from? You don’t know the whole story until you’ve explored the magical world of Pixie Hollow! Powered by faith, trust, and Pixie Dust, Tinker Bell and her friends each have unique talents, and whenever Pixie Hollow is in trouble, these fairy friends work together to set things right. Come along on the adventure of a lifetime in this thrilling graphic novel series!”

fairy_pre3So one important distinction I noticed is that these books seem to focus around the fairy characters that were first introduced in the wonderful Gail Carson Levine novel Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg.  So there a few characters that you might not be familiar with if you’ve only watched the movies.  The two main characters you might not know are Prilla and Rani.  I actually  named my dog after Rani. lol  Prilla as I’ve mentioned before in some of my posts is my favorite Disney Fairies character (other than tink).  So just the fact that she is in the stories means I’m probably going to find these books to be a delight.  I love comics in general so having several volumes of stories featuring some of my all time favorite characters was an absolute joy to discover.

So if you haven’t discovered this lovely series yet I encourage you to look into it.  I’ve made it a bit easier for you and linked a few of the books here. Try one out and let me know what you think!  I know I’m going to! ^_^

Selena Gomez – Fly to your Heart Music Video

This was the single they released by Selena Gomez from the very first Tinker Bell movie.  Which in case your wondering is still my favorite of the series (so far! ^_^).  What’s yours?  Feel free to leave a comment with your answer.  I’d love to hear your opinions!

So I believe this is the last of the Tinker Bell movie music videos… if I’m wrong about that and you know of one that I missed please let me know!

Demi Lovato “Gift of a Friend” Music Video

I’m admittedly a Demi Lovato fan so I have a soft spot for this song.  Not only is it demi but the background instruments have sort of celtic flare that is quite nice.  This song was made for the movie Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure.  So if you haven’t already check out the music video and pick up the movie some time.  It was very good!

“Great Divide” Music Video from Secret of the Wings

I’ve got to start paying attention to the awesome music videos that are being released with these movies. Here’s one I missed! I’ll post up the other’s from the previous movies throughout the week. Catch you guys all up in case you missed them as well. :)
